Approved vehicles and equipment for GoRoute couriers
Last updated February 10, 2026
GoRoute accepts a variety of transportation methods for deliveries. The vehicle type you choose determines your delivery radius, the types of orders you receive, and the documentation required.
Approved vehicle types
- Car: Any 2-door or 4-door car, SUV, or minivan with valid registration and insurance. Cars receive the widest delivery radius and are eligible for all order types, including large catering orders.
- Motorcycle: Street-legal motorcycles with valid registration and insurance. Similar delivery radius to cars, though large orders may not be dispatched to motorcycle couriers.
- E-bike: Electric-assist bicycles capable of sustained speeds of 15+ mph. Popular in urban areas with bike-friendly infrastructure.
- Bicycle: Standard pedal bicycles. Delivery radius is limited to shorter distances (typically within 3 miles of the restaurant).
- Scooter: Electric or gas-powered scooters. Similar radius to e-bikes with good maneuverability in congested areas.
- Walking (select markets): In dense urban areas, GoRoute allows on-foot delivery for very short distances (under 1 mile). Available only in supported markets.
Documentation by vehicle type
Car and motorcycle couriers must provide a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of auto insurance. Bike, e-bike, and scooter couriers only need a valid government-issued photo ID — no vehicle documents are required. Walking couriers need only a photo ID.
Changing your vehicle type
You can switch your delivery method at any time in Account > Vehicle Info. If switching to a car or motorcycle, you'll need to upload the required documents. Changes take effect after document verification, which usually takes 24 to 48 hours.
