Reporting a safety concern during a delivery
Last updated March 11, 2026
Your safety is GoRoute's top priority. If you encounter a dangerous situation, aggressive behavior, or feel unsafe at any point during a delivery, you should report it immediately.
How to report a safety concern
After the delivery (or during, if safe to do so), go to Activity > Delivery Details > Report Safety Issue. Select the category that best describes the situation — options include aggressive or threatening customer, unsafe location, harassment, suspicious activity, or other. Provide as much detail as possible about what happened.
In immediate danger
If you feel you are in immediate danger, call 911 first. Do not complete the delivery — leave the area and get to a safe location. You can also use the emergency button in the app (shield icon) to simultaneously contact emergency services and alert GoRoute's safety team. Never risk your personal safety to complete a delivery.
What GoRoute does with your report
Every safety report is reviewed by GoRoute's dedicated safety team within 24 hours. Depending on the severity, actions may include:
- Issuing a warning to the customer
- Suspending or permanently banning the customer's account
- Flagging the delivery address as a high-risk location
- Coordinating with law enforcement if criminal activity is involved
Your identity is kept confidential — GoRoute does not share your personal information with the customer.
Reporting unsafe locations
If a delivery location itself feels unsafe — poor lighting, a dangerous neighborhood, or an inaccessible building — you can flag the address in the app. GoRoute tracks location-based safety reports and may add warnings or special instructions for future couriers delivering to that address.
