Step-by-step guide to completing a delivery

Every GoRoute delivery follows the same basic flow. Here's a detailed walkthrough of each stage so you know exactly what to expect.

1. Accept the order

When an order appears on your screen, review the restaurant name, estimated payout, and distances. Tap Accept within the time window to claim it. Once accepted, the order is yours — the app switches to navigation mode and directs you to the pickup location.

2. Navigate to the restaurant

Follow the in-app directions or use your preferred navigation app. As you approach, look for the restaurant's entrance. Some restaurants have a dedicated pickup area for delivery couriers — check for signs or ask staff.

3. Pick up the order

When you arrive, tap Arrived at Store in the app. Go inside and provide the order number shown on your screen. The staff will hand you the prepared items. Verify the number of bags or containers matches what's listed in the app. Place hot and cold items in separate compartments of your insulated bag. Tap Picked Up to proceed.

4. Deliver to the customer

The app now navigates you to the customer's drop-off address. Review the delivery instructions — customers may include notes like apartment numbers, gate codes, or specific placement requests ("leave on the porch table"). Follow these instructions carefully, as they directly affect your rating.

5. Complete the delivery

For leave-at-door orders: place the items as instructed, take a clear photo showing the food at the drop-off location, and tap Complete Delivery. The photo serves as proof of delivery. For hand-to-me orders: ring the bell or knock, hand the order directly to the customer, and tap Complete Delivery.

6. Review and move on

After completion, your payout for that delivery appears in your Earnings tab. If you're still online, the system immediately begins looking for your next order. You can also pause or go offline at any time between deliveries.
